March 23: Our amazing Hillcrest team is still here for you, from our Animal Hospital location.
Please see our important update and temporary decision to adjust our operations to adhere to the recommended guidelines, protect our staff, and still care for your pets in need.
Hillcrest phone lines will still be answered by our staff, so please do not hesitate to reach out for needed assistance.
As the Stay at Home Order has gone into effect, we will be updating our current operations to follow the recommended guidelines. We will be closing our Hillcrest Animal Hospital location and our Animal Hospital facility will be open for only sick patients, patients within vaccines series or due for Rabies or Lepto, and essential surgeries. If you have any appointments, including grooming or technician appointments that fall outside of these guidelines, our office will be contacting you to reschedule.
During this time, we are able to accept your pets for boarding under urgent circumstances, such as caring for a loved one.
Please be sure to continue to follow our client free lobby protocol and call our temporary line when arriving at our facility for appointments or pick ups. Our main line is open for all other assistance and questions.
Please be patient with us, as our phone volume is very high during this uncertain time. We will provide updated information as the situation continues to evolve.
Thank you for allowing us, your Animal Hospital family, to be there for you when you need us. Stay safe
March 19: We at Hillcrest Animal Hospital are remaining cognizant of the recommended precautions and information updates regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We know this is a scary time with many unanswered questions and concerns. We are taking many precautions in an effort to keep our environment as safe as possible for our clients and staff, while remaining open to provide the care your pets need.
As a hospital, we have always had strict cleaning protocols in place, but have added some additional measures, along with increased frequency of disinfecting, to reduce exposure. Please see the additional protocols we are currently implementing:
If you are ill, please reschedule your pets appointment, or have a family member or friend to bring them for care
We have become a client free facility, with the exception of end of life visits. Please call us at 440-449-1800 when arriving in our parking lot for appointments. A team member will begin the check in process. An assistant will then come receive your pet from your vehicle. Our veterinarians and staff will obtain accurate medical history, communicate exam findings, recommendations, and collect payment over the phone while you wait in your vehicle.
If picking up medications or nutrition items, please call our main line at 440-449-1800 and one of our team members will collect credit card payment over the phone and bring the medications out to you.
We continue to remind all staff to practice vigilant personal hygiene and stay home when feeling ill. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns and we will work to keep you updated with any changes.
At this time, the CDC has not received any reports of pets, or other animals, becoming infected with COVID-19 and there is no evidence that companion animals contribute to the spread of the virus. The AVMA continue to recommend that everyone, including pet owners, practice good hygiene as their best means for preventing illness or transmitting disease to others.
We are proud to be able to provide our community with excellent pet care and appreciate each and every one of you, our clients. Rest assured that safety is our mission while navigating through this unsettling time.
